Dental implants are an option to replace missing tooth (teeth) and also provide a fixed solution instead of removable partial or complete dentures.
  • Dental implants are artificial roots (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jawbone by a dentist.
  • After the implants are placed, a crown will be placed over the implant to simulate natural tooth (teeth).
  • At Breeze Dental, Dr. Liao will surgically place the implant and restore implants for you!
  • Dental implants are strong and durable and are designed to last many years. Routine care must be performed to ensure the function of dental implants.
Reasons for dental implants:
  • Replace one or more missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth like dental bridge does.
  • Restore a patient’s smile through restoring dentition.
  • Restore functions such as chewing, speech, and digestion.
  • Restore facial balance and muscle tone.
  • Eliminates removable prosthesis such as partial dentures and complete dentures.
What does getting dental implants involve?
  • The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months. Although in some situations, at Breeze Dental, dental implants with crowns can be done at the same visit!
  • X-rays including CBCT and impressions through intra-oral scanning are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant.
  • If spacing is not available, we will provide orthodontic treatment to deliver ideal implant space for you!
  • Sometimes, if there isn’t sufficient bone to support dental implant, we will also provide bone grafting procedures for you in our office!
  • While the area is anesthetized, the implant will be surgically placed by our dental team into the bone and allowed to heal and bone integration for up to six months.
  • A second surgery may be required in order to place the “post” or “abutment” that will hold the artificial tooth (crown) in place.
  • Following several weeks of healing and bone integration the artificial teeth are made and fitted to the post portion of the dental implant. The artificial teeth are then securely attached to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort to the patient.
  • Our patients will receive care instructions when your dental implant procedures are completed.  Good oral hygiene and eating habits, alongside regular dental visits, will aid in the life of your new implant.
